Governance

As a public organisation, the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) must work fairly, openly and in line with clear rules that ensure decisions are made responsibly and in the best interests of people across Wales.

Governance explains what the NWJCC is responsible for, why these responsibilities matter, and how decisions, risks and performance are managed when overseeing national NHS services in Wales.
The Governance team ensures the NWJCC follows the right procedures, keeps accurate records, manages risks, and remains transparent and accountable.

All governance documents can be explored using the left‑hand navigation.
These documents show:

  • how the NWJCC is required to work
  • what rules and standards it must follow
  • how decisions are checked and challenged
  • how fairness and accountability are protected when planning national services
